Some thoughts on Cross-Border Shopping...

It's perfectly reasonable for people living near the Border to cross over to get shopping bargains. Most of us are willing to drive a reasonable distance to get good value.
My understanding is that, with all the media hype, people from all over the South are heading North to buy groceries and booze. Recently I saw on BBC an interview with a chap who had driven to Newry all the way from Limerick. The media stories rarely factor in the expenditure on petrol as well as the expenditure of time. Anyway, this is something to think about before setting out on a long trip to the North.
Now, I'm not suggesting that we should not support our fellow countrymen in the Six Counties. Why not consider taking your summer holidays in Country Antrim this year...instead of going abroad. You'll be assured of great hospitality and wonderful scenery. And with the exchange rate, you'll get value for your Euro.
As usual, your comments are welcome.
