In praise of bike riding...

One of the morning papers has an article this morning informing us that we'll be a nation of bike-riders by the year 2020. The Government is going to be taking steps that will make the use of the bicycle more attractive.
Of course this is not an option for many people. One advantage of riding a bike or walking is that one can better appreciate the countryside. I took this photo of the snow-capped Dublin mountains on my walk into the village of Tallaght this morning.

Update:
My friend Ron, who is an outstanding photographer, points out in "Comments" that my photo doesn't show much of a mountain! He's right...it looks more like a hill.

  1. Ed: Good luck, but those are what you call mountains! Maybe a sunny day photo will convince me otherwise. Huge piles of snow in New England, but most days have that big bright thing in the sky!

You're right...I'm not sure why they call them mountains...they really are hills...but the photo does make them look smaller than they are.
    Thanks for the comment.
